Part and insert with edge distance / with rest as edge distance

Command: "Part and insert with edge distance" to divide a line with blocks.

For dividing blocks along a line by entering the edge distances. The elements are inserted in integer divisions after a minimum distance has been entered. The last division is determined according to the residual value. Alternatively, the "Divide evenly" checkbox can be used to insert elements with equal divisions with decimal places. In the "Offset" field, you can enter a value for the offset of the block to the definition line. In this example, a positive value for the offset moves the blocks upwards. A negative value for the offset moves the blocks downwards.

Command:

Select objects or Return for point input: Here you select a line (not a polyline) or press the Return key to select two points.

You can also use edge points. The offset can be specified in the dialogue box.

With the option "Rest as edge distance" you get this result:

Select block or Return for block name: Click on the desired block.
